A new sign language category was established on the Seo-gu Office YouTube channel, and continuous translation services will be provided with about 10 deaf individuals proficient in sign language.
Additionally, by utilizing the infrastructure and information of ongoing projects such as producing sign language translation videos for civil complaint information on the homepage, Seo-gu plans to secure the sustainability of public job opportunities for people with disabilities.
Mayor Kim Ikang of Seo-gu said, "While other local governments or central ministries already provide sign language translation videos, this is the first time nationwide that hearing and speech-impaired individuals themselves have planned and created such content," adding, "With this first step and based on the Barrier-Free City Promotion Committee, we will create a barrier-free Seo-gu where everyone can live safely and conveniently."
