Seongnam City to Provide Up to 800,000 KRW Monthly 'Dad Parental Leave Incentive' Starting July
Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province will start providing the 'Dad Parental Leave Incentive' from July 3.
This program supports the difference between the parental leave allowance cap (1.5 million KRW) under the Employment Insurance Act and the actual allowance for up to six months.
Seongnam City will pay recipients an incentive ranging from 100,000 to 800,000 KRW per month.
To fund this, Seongnam City secured a budget of 200 million KRW for this year through a supplementary budget.
The eligible recipients are male parental leave takers receiving parental leave benefits under the Employment Insurance Act.
Applicants must have been continuously registered as residents in Seongnam for at least one year as of the application date. The child eligible for parental leave must also be registered as a resident in Seongnam.
Applications can be submitted from the program start date through the Seongnam City website (Citizen Participation → Online Application → Dad Parental Leave Incentive Support).
