Jeju Coast Guard Conducts Inspection of Navigation Equipment and Facilities in Preparation for Typhoon
Jeju Maritime Police Station (Chief So Byung-yong) announced on the 26th that it will conduct a two-week intensive inspection of information and communication, navigation equipment, and facilities installed inside and outside the police station, sub-stations, and patrol vessels until the 7th of next month to prepare for summer typhoons and heavy rains.
This inspection was promoted to prevent damage caused by strong winds and heavy rains, as the frequency of typhoons and heavy rains accompanied by strong winds is expected to increase due to recent climate changes.

Jeju Maritime Police will focus on inspecting communication towers and various facility communication and navigation equipment installed at the police station, sub-station buildings, and maritime police exclusive piers to ensure that communication networks are maintained under any circumstances.
In addition, to enable rapid and accurate response to situations, disaster safety communication network equipment will be inspected simultaneously with operation training and practice on various equipment to strengthen practical operational capabilities.
A Jeju Maritime Police official said, “As heavy rains and typhoons are expected to increase during the summer, we will secure the safety of equipment through this inspection of information and communication equipment and facilities, and contribute to protecting the lives and property of the public by smoothly operating equipment in emergency situations.”
