DA Technology Expands UAM Battery Business
DA Technology announced on the 23rd that it will expand its aviation secondary battery business, including urban air mobility (UAM) promoted in partnership with V Space.
DA Technology participated in the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Industry Expo (UWC 2023) and held partnering meetings with numerous companies, including future mobility specialized firms, based on its UAM battery pack. The company expects to achieve concrete results in the aviation secondary battery business.
Recently, the battery industry has been entering the UAM market, which has high growth potential. Since the battery is a key technology enabling unmanned aerial vehicles to travel long distances, domestic battery companies are promoting collaboration with aircraft manufacturers on battery development.
DA Technology has been collaborating with V Space on UAM battery development and supply since last year. It is currently developing battery modules to be applied to UAM aircraft and has purchased V Space’s UAM aircraft for research purposes.
V Space is also participating in the world’s largest aerospace exhibition, the “Paris Air Show 2023,” held until the 25th, based on its self-developed pure electric propulsion vertical take-off and landing aircraft (eVTOL). Marking its 55th edition this year, the Paris Air Show is the longest-running and largest aerospace and defense event in the world. Along with the UK Farnborough Airshow and the Singapore Airshow, it is considered one of the world’s three major airshows.
At the Paris Air Show, V Space held technical consultations with global aviation companies such as KALTA, Finmasi Group, Helix, and SKYtronix to promote early commercialization of UAM and establish a global value chain.
