Air Premia Expanding US and Europe Routes: "Profit Next Year... Revenue to Exceed 1 Trillion Won in 5 Years"
Yoo Myung-seop, CEO of the new airline Air Premia, said on the 14th, "We will introduce four Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft next year and turn profitable."
CEO Yoo made this announcement at a press conference held to commemorate the first anniversary of the international regular flight service. The airline positions itself as a "hybrid," offering medium- to long-haul routes mainly served by full-service carriers (FSC) at prices comparable to low-cost carriers (LCC).
By 2027, the company plans to introduce more than 15 large aircraft to be deployed on medium- to long-haul routes to the Americas and Europe. The sales target is set at 1.15 trillion KRW, with an operating profit goal of over 100 billion KRW. CEO Yoo said, "Considering the trend of expanding medium- to long-haul routes to the Americas and Europe and increasing the fleet size, we are confident in steep growth over the next five years."
The company launched flights to Los Angeles, USA, in October last year and to New York in May this year. On the 23rd, it will begin service to Frankfurt, Germany, marking the full-scale entry into European routes. Additionally, major European cities such as Paris, Rome, and Barcelona, as well as American hubs like Seattle and Hawaii, are under consideration. Earlier this month, the airline received approval for extended diversion time operations (EDTO-180), enabling efficient operation of long-haul routes.
The currently operated international routes are judged to have high load factors and customer satisfaction levels. Within five months of launching international flights in July last year, all regular routes including Singapore, Ho Chi Minh, Narita, and New York have load factors exceeding 80%. According to an internal survey assessing recommendation intentions and service satisfaction, the airline has achieved commendable results.
