Jeonnam Fire Department Conducts Comprehensive Crackdown on 'Repeated Violations'... 250 Sites Caught
The Jeonnam Fire Headquarters (Chief Hong Young-geun) conducted a comprehensive crackdown on 'repetitive illegal activities' over a three-month period from March to May, resulting in the detection of violations at 250 locations.
Jeonnam Fire analyzed violations detected over the past three years to identify repeatedly pointed out issues and carried out inspections targeting hazardous materials, fire safety management subjects, and fire construction fields.
A total of 21 inspection teams were operated, composed of the headquarters and special judicial police from each fire station, as well as fire safety investigation teams. They inspected compliance with hazardous materials storage and handling, proper commencement and supervision of fire facility construction sites, and fire safety management matters.
Among 10,621 hazardous material manufacturing sites, 526 fire facility construction sites, and 14,999 fire safety management designated sites, 5-10% were selected by each fire station, totaling 848 sites inspected.
The inspection results revealed violations at 250 sites (29.5%), including 16 sites subject to criminal charges, 28 sites fined, 19 sites notified to institutions, and 187 sites with corrective orders totaling 794 cases. Among these, 92 minor violations were corrected on-site.
