BPA President Kang Jun-seok Visits Leading Shipping Company Contributing Most to Busan Port Cargo Volume
Kang Jun-seok, President of Busan Port Authority (BPA), visited the headquarters of the global shipping company ONE on the 8th.
During this visit, BPA expressed gratitude to ONE for its contribution to the cargo volume at Busan Port and requested that it continue to use Busan Port as a transshipment hub in the future. BPA also provided detailed explanations about the Busan Port development plans, efforts to improve operational efficiency, and the competitiveness of Busan Port.
Headquartered in Singapore, ONE is the world's 7th largest global shipping company (with a capacity of approximately 1.5 million TEU), formed through the merger of Japan's three major shipping companies (NYK, MOL, K-LINE).
ONE primarily transships Japanese regional cargo through Busan Port and operates dedicated feeder routes between North China (Dalian, Tianjin, Qingdao) and Busan Port, making the largest contribution to increasing transshipment cargo volume at Busan Port.
Additionally, ONE has been the largest cargo handler at Busan Port for two consecutive years and holds the record as the first single shipping company to surpass 3 million TEU annually at Busan Port.
