Attendance at GFANZ Asia-Pacific Regional Advisory Committee Meeting
Yoon Jong-kyu, Chairman of KB Financial Group, attended the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ) Asia-Pacific Regional Advisory Committee meeting and stated, "We will strive to achieve the net-zero (carbon neutrality) goals in the Asia-Pacific region."
On the occasion of the 1st anniversary of the establishment of the Asia-Pacific Regional Advisory Committee, Chairman Yoon spoke at the in-person meeting held in Singapore on the 5th, saying, "To accelerate the transition to a net-zero economy in the Asia-Pacific region, communication and cooperation among various stakeholders, including financial institutions in the Asia-Pacific region, regulatory bodies, related industries and sectors, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs), are essential."
KB Financial was the first domestic financial institution to declare a 'coal phase-out' and announced the group's mid-to-long-term carbon neutrality strategy, ‘KB Net Zero S.T.A.R.’ Along with this, the group plans to expand ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) products, investments, and loans to 50 trillion KRW by 2030, focusing 25 trillion KRW of that on eco-friendly sectors such as renewable energy.

Meanwhile, GFANZ is a global alliance established in April 2021, comprising over 550 financial institutions from 50 countries worldwide, aiming to promote a net-zero economy and overcome the climate crisis through finance.
