About 400 employees and stakeholders, including Hyundai Elevator CEO Jo Jae-cheon, the labor union chairman, and representatives of service partners, attended the event. The event featured various attractions such as a highlight video of the MIRI service, congratulatory speeches by Hyundai Group Chairwoman Hyun Jeong-eun, CEO Jo Jae-cheon, and the labor union chairman, an introduction to the MIRI service, a robot delivery demonstration, and an experience zone.
In her congratulatory speech, Chairwoman Hyun Jeong-eun said, “MIRI, which embodies future technologies, is a representative case of digital transformation in the elevator industry that upgrades service speed and customer convenience to the next level, and it will play an important role in our future global strategy. Let us work together to realize Hyundai Elevator’s vision, foster win-win cooperation, and achieve technological advancement.”
CEO Jo Jae-cheon emphasized, “The core values pursued by MIRI are ‘communication’ and ‘connection.’ Based on transparent elevator information, we aim to ‘communicate’ with customers and deliver new value through ‘connection’ with various devices such as elevators, smartphones, AI, and robots. We expect MIRI to play a pivotal role in transforming elevators from mere means of transportation into platforms.”
MIRI incorporates the ‘Elevator Availability Increase Technology’ developed by Hyundai Elevator over 33 months since 2020 as a national project led by the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology, in collaboration with industry, academia, research institutes, and government agencies. It can reduce downtime (operational stoppage time) caused by elevator malfunctions by up to 43% compared to before. The key technologies enabling this include ▲component lifespan measurement models ▲fault detection and classification services ▲pre-fault detection warning services ▲IoT gateways dedicated to elevators. Customers can check the replacement cycles of parts and abnormal signals provided by MIRI to take preemptive action. Even when problems occur, information about the on-site situation is immediately transmitted to maintenance technicians upon reporting, drastically reducing response time.
Services tailored to the upscale and advanced residential trends also stand out. The elevator remote call system ‘MIRI Call,’ linked with AI assistant systems such as Siri and Bixby, reduces waiting times for boarding and enhances convenience. ‘MIRI View,’ based on intelligent video analysis and voice recognition technologies, protects passenger safety by immediately notifying managers or customer centers via AI in case of emergencies or abnormal situations, enabling rapid response.
