Government Promotes 'Nanta' to Attract Japanese Tourists
'Memories of Hallyu' Promotion... Various Travel Content Promotion
Marketing Expansion through Musicals, Classical, and Fusion Gugak
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization announced on the 31st that they will conduct marketing to attract Japanese tourists in connection with the 'Nanta' performance.
'Nanta' premiered in 1997 and has attracted approximately 11.5 million foreign audiences to date. Among them, about 2.5 million are Japanese. Inspired by this, the two organizations will carry out a 'Memories of Hallyu' promotion targeting 1,000 Japanese tourists. Additionally, they will promote K-Beauty and K-Pop travel content, experience products at filming locations of the drama 'Winter Sonata' (Nami Island), and tours of filming sites of the drama 'Crash Landing on You' to encourage visits to Korea.
The 'Memories of Hallyu' promotion will kick off on the 31st with a 'K-Tourism Special Talk Show' at the Nanta exclusive theater. Cho Yong-man, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, will welcome the Japanese audience, and Song Seung-hwan, the general director and planner of 'Nanta,' will personally share various stories related to the performance. Singer and actor Jo Kwon will also participate, recommending performance content and hidden alleyway restaurants. Director Song said, "Since this event commemorates the 20th anniversary of Hallyu in the Japanese market, I hope many Japanese tourists fully enjoy the charm of Korean performances."
