One High School Student Dies After Colliding with Taxi While Riding Electric Scooter Without a License
Two high school students riding electric scooters collided with a taxi, resulting in the death of one of them.
On the 18th, the Seocho Police Station in Seoul announced that they had booked a taxi driver in his 60s, Mr. A, on charges of violating the Special Act on Traffic Accident Handling.
Mr. A is suspected of hitting two high school students riding electric scooters while driving a taxi on Sapyeong-daero in front of Exit 1 of Sapyeong Station in Seoul at 1:24 a.m. on the 16th.
At the time, Ms. B (17) and Ms. C (17) were crossing the crosswalk on a red light while riding electric scooters when the accident occurred. Ms. C, who was riding behind, lost consciousness at the scene and was transported to the hospital but died around 9 a.m. on the day of the accident. The driver, Ms. B, sustained fractures.
It was investigated that Ms. B was riding the electric scooter without a license. The police booked Ms. B on charges of violating the Road Traffic Act.
