Police Deploy 430 Traffic Officers... Traffic Management Implemented
The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced on the 17th that traffic control measures will be implemented due to expected traffic congestion in downtown Seoul caused by the upcoming "2023 Buddha’s Birthday Lantern Parade" scheduled for the 20th.

View original imageThis lantern parade will take place around Jongno, Jangchungdan-ro, and Ujeongguk-ro (in front of Jogyesa Temple) in Seoul.
On the 20th, traffic will be restricted as follows: Jongno (Heunginjimun ↔ Jonggak) from 1 PM until 3 AM the next day for parade preparations; Jangchungdan-ro (Dongguk University Entrance ↔ Heunginjimun) from 6 PM to 8:30 PM; and Ujeongguk-ro (Sejong-daero Intersection ↔ Jonggak ↔ Anguk-dong Intersection) from 6 PM until midnight.
However, the section between Jangchung and Heunginjimun will allow flexible east-west vehicle passage during the parade, and vehicles using Jongno will be redirected via Yulgok-ro.
On the 21st, Ujeongguk-ro in front of Jogyesa Temple will be closed from 9 AM until midnight.
The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency stated, "To minimize traffic congestion and inconvenience to citizens, 476 guide signs and banners will be installed around the controlled areas, and over 430 personnel including traffic police will be deployed to manage traffic."
