Yeungjin College to Award Teaching Certificates to Nursing Graduates Starting Next Year
Increase in Admission Quota by 13 Students
The Department of Nursing at Yeungjin College (President Choi Jae-young) has received approval from the Ministry of Education to establish a teacher training program for the 2024 academic year, and has also been granted an increase in its admission quota.
Accordingly, starting with the 2024 academic year freshmen, the Department of Nursing at this college will be able to operate an educational curriculum that allows 11 students to obtain the Level 2 Health Teacher Certificate (2nd grade licensed teacher) in accordance with the regulations related to teacher qualification examinations.
The Level 2 Health Teacher Certificate is automatically issued along with the nursing license upon completion of the nursing curriculum and teacher training courses and passing the national nursing examination.
With this approval of the teacher training program, the Department of Nursing at Yeungjin College will be able to further focus on nurturing personnel who can contribute to school health and community health promotion.
Baek Ju-yeon, head of the Department of Nursing at Yeungjin College, said, “We will do our best to enable graduates to demonstrate their capabilities as health teachers through the systematic teacher training program unique to the nursing department.”

The Department of Nursing at Yeungjin College has also received approval from the Ministry of Education to increase its admission quota for the 2024 academic year. The department has been granted an increase of 13 students, selecting a total of 124 freshmen starting from next year’s admissions.
Located in Buk-gu, Daegu, the Department of Nursing at Yeungjin College boasts excellent nursing education, having received a 5-year accreditation from the Korea Accreditation Board of Nursing Education for the 3rd cycle, and boasts a high employment rate of 92.8% (based on internal standards for graduates of February 2022).
