Gyeonggi Province is partnering with the Korea Nano Technology Institute to recruit trainees for semiconductor process and equipment training.

The province announced that from the 8th to the 21st of this month, it will select 30 trainees for the "Nano Technology Workforce Development Project," which is implemented by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and supported by Gyeonggi Province.

This project aims to create jobs for young people and support technical personnel in small and medium-sized enterprises by utilizing the advanced facilities and expert personnel of the Korea Nano Technology Institute to train technical workers for small and medium-sized enterprises and mid-sized companies.

Since its inception in 2013, over 600 semiconductor technical personnel have been produced.

Trainees will receive 240 hours of education over six weeks, covering overall nano and semiconductor process technology and design practice training. Graduates of the training program will be employed by semiconductor manufacturers participating in the project, as well as outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) companies.

The training is completely free, and trainees will receive reimbursement for training expenses. Outstanding students will be awarded commendations from the Governor of Gyeonggi Province and the President of the Korea Nano Technology Institute.

Eligibility requirements include residents of Gyeonggi Province who have graduated (or are expected to graduate) from a junior college (universities located outside the region are acceptable), and those who have graduated (or are expected to graduate) from junior colleges located in Gyeonggi Province (residents from other regions are also eligible).
