Aerobic Hip-hop, Dance Sports, Rhythmic Gymnastics Classes
A free course to learn jive, rhythmic gymnastics, and aerobics has been prepared at Sejong Center for the Performing Arts.
Sejong Center for the Performing Arts is operating 'Sports in Art Station' as part of the citizen health management project included in the '2023 First Half Sejong Arts Academy Arts Program.' Sports in Art Station is a sports×arts joint cooperation project operated by Seoul City, Seoul Sports Council, and Sejong Center for the Performing Arts since March.
Currently, Sports in Art Station offers aerobics hip-hop, dance sports, and rhythmic gymnastics courses. Aerobics hip-hop classes are held on Mondays and Wednesdays, dance sports on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and rhythmic gymnastics on Fridays. Classes are held three times a day at 10 a.m., 12 p.m., and 7 p.m. The instructors include Park Seo-jeong, a former national youth rhythmic gymnastics representative, and professional instructors affiliated with the Seoul Sports Council.
The courses take place in the 'Open Stage,' a wooden floor space inside Sejong Center for the Performing Arts. The Open Stage is a versatile space that can be used for performance rehearsals, hands-on experiential education, exhibitions, showrooms, as well as open showcases and mini-concerts utilizing fully open folding doors. Seoul City plans to actively use the Open Stage as a venue for community sports performances as well.
The aerobics hip-hop class in Sports in Art Station consists of aerobics dance and hip-hop dance. The hip-hop dance class is at 12 p.m., while aerobics dance classes are held during the morning and evening sessions. Aerobics hip-hop is an official event in the National Sports Festival for Community Sports, the National Youth Sports Festival, and the National Sports Festival.
The dance sports course offers ballroom dance for sports competitions, currently featuring the South American dance jive. Rhythmic gymnastics is an official Olympic event that expresses music through water polo-like and rhythmic movements. It helps develop a beautiful body and correct posture through basic skills, and since it involves moving with apparatus, it improves flexibility, concentration, and coordination, making it suitable for all ages.
