Targeting the first Children’s Day since the endemic (periodic outbreak of infectious diseases), theme parks and complex leisure facilities have prepared events to capture the innocence of childhood. Notable highlights include fireworks shows harmonized with night views and enhanced play content for family visitors.
According to the industry on the 3rd, Legoland Korea (Legoland), which celebrates its first anniversary on the 5th, plans to hold a fireworks display around 8 p.m. on the 5th and 6th at the theme park, which includes Children’s Day. Since April 28, Legoland has been extending its operating hours until 9 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, implementing night openings for the first time. The fireworks show is a new event starting this week.
A Legoland representative said, “Although there is a rain forecast for Children’s Day, we expect many family visitors, so we are preparing to ensure that the first anniversary celebration event proceeds without any issues.” Along with the night openings, the park has designated the period until the 7th as Birthday Party Week to share the joy of the first anniversary with customers. During this period, a surprise birthday party including a Legoland character dance performance and an airshot ceremony will be held daily at 10 a.m. at the park’s main entrance.
Visitors can also participate in the ‘Lego Friends Stamp Tour,’ collecting stamps at four booths set up throughout the park, running from this week until June 6. Additionally, from the 5th to the 7th, a ‘Legoland Treasure Hunt Event’ will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. at the outdoor Lego City stage.
E- Land’s Daegu theme park E-World will also operate the ‘Royal Fantasy Fireworks Show’ in celebration of Family Month. About 20,000 colorful fireworks will light up the night sky for approximately 7 minutes starting at 8 p.m., accompanied by exciting music. From the 4th to the 7th, the park will designate a ‘Special Family Week’ and offer discounts on tower rides, various cafes, and food products within E-World. An E-World representative emphasized, “If you are considering a place for a May outing with your family, this will be the best choice.”
Paradise City, a complex resort on Yeongjongdo Island in Incheon, will reactivate facilities for family visitors during the holiday, allowing ‘no-mask’ entry for the first time in three years since COVID-19. The spa ‘Cimer,’ reopening on the 4th with a premium wellness concept, is a representative facility. The indoor children’s playground ‘Champion The Blackbelt’ has also newly opened for kids. Inside the hotel, a stroller rental service featuring new products from the global baby brand ‘Nuna’ is provided, along with the ‘2023 RC Car Festival’ and a collaboration with Sanrio Korea for the ‘My Melody & Kuromi Promotion.’
