Ministry of Health and Welfare Checks Medical Solidarity's 'Annual Leave Strike' Situation... "Preventing Medical Service Gaps"
On the 3rd, the Ministry of Health and Welfare held the 4th Emergency Situation Inspection Meeting chaired by Vice Minister Park Min-su to address the healthcare sector's strike action opposing the enactment of the Nursing Act, reviewing the trends in the medical community and the current status of medical services.

The Ministry sent the 'Emergency Medical Measures in Preparation for Partial Medical Sector Strikes' to 17 metropolitan and provincial governments the previous day and instructed them to implement measures to prevent gaps in medical services based on this. Additionally, the Ministry requested cooperation from the Korea Hospital Association to extend the operating hours of hospital-level and higher medical institutions and to maintain a 24-hour emergency medical system.
During the meeting, the current operation status of emergency medical institutions was assessed, and it was decided to continuously monitor the operational status through the Emergency Medical Resource Information System to ensure that emergency patients are not harmed due to medical institution strikes. Furthermore, necessary matters to prevent gaps in medical services will be promptly identified and timely actions will be taken.

Vice Minister Park stated, "Under no circumstances should any harm come to the health and safety of the public. The government will maintain a close cooperative system with local governments and hospital-level medical institutions to ensure the smooth operation of the emergency medical response system and will do its utmost to protect the lives and safety of the people."
