"94% Chance of Rain"... Who Will Smile at the Masters Amid the Downpour?
Rain forecast for four days from the 6th
Thunder, lightning, and wind expected
"Sheffler and McIlroy, contenders with power and precision"
The Masters, the first major tournament of the year, is expected to be held amid thunderstorms, lightning showers, and wind. There is also a possibility of schedule delays due to rain for the first time in 40 years since 1983. Such weather conditions are predicted to favor players who possess both power and precision.

On the 4th (local time), foreign media including the UK's 'Mirror' cited the forecast from the weather application 'The Weather Channel,' reporting that rain is expected throughout the four-day Masters Tournament held from the 6th at Augusta National Golf Club (par 72, 7,545 yards) in Augusta, Georgia, USA.
On the 6th, when the first round of this year's Masters takes place, the chance of precipitation is 24%, but it soars to 84% for the second round on the 7th. The third round on the 8th is forecasted at 94%, and the final round on the 9th at 60%.
Because of this, there is also speculation that the tournament schedule could extend until Monday, the 10th local time. Previously, the Masters held its final round on a Monday twice due to rain delays, in 1973 and 1983. In 2003, the first round scheduled for Thursday was canceled due to a storm, and 36 holes were played the next day, completing the tournament in three days.
This year's tournament is expected to feature chilly weather with thunderstorms and cold winds, with players competing in cool conditions. On the 8th, temperatures are forecasted to drop to 10-11 degrees Celsius. Because of this, players with strength and accuracy in their shots are expected to stand out under humid and windy conditions. The Mirror predicted that defending champion and world number one Scottie Scheffler (USA) and number two Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland) will have an advantage in this environment.
