LIV Golf Transfer DeChambeau "Contact with Woods Has Been Lost"
Golfweek Interview... "Not Clinging to the PGA Tour"
‘Hulk’ Bryson DeChambeau was ‘cut off’ by ‘Golf Emperor’ Tiger Woods (both from the United States).
On the 30th (local time), in an interview with Golfweek, DeChambeau was asked if there were any players who stopped contacting him after moving to LIV Golf. He avoided a direct answer, saying, "A well-known player did." When asked if that player was Woods, he confirmed, "Yes." He explained, "After moving to LIV Golf, I sent Woods a birthday message, but he did not reply, and we no longer communicate."
DeChambeau was once a favored junior of Woods. During the 2018 Ryder Cup, Woods chose DeChambeau as his partner and took on a mentor role, practicing rounds together at major tournaments. However, after DeChambeau joined LIV Golf for a large sum of money, Woods’ attitude turned cold. Woods opposes LIV Golf and plays a central role in uniting PGA Tour players. DeChambeau accepted Woods’ ‘blocking,’ saying, "It’s no one’s fault," and "He is a good friend."

DeChambeau, who was banned from participating in the PGA Tour due to joining LIV Golf, said, "I don’t miss the PGA Tour," and added, "LIV Golf is gaining more fans." DeChambeau is a strong player with a total of eight PGA Tour wins, including the 2020 US Open. He attracted great attention by gaining weight and maximizing swing speed to transform into a fearsome long hitter. However, since moving to LIV Golf, he has not achieved notable results.
