Prosecutors Request Arrest Warrant for Lim Jong-sik, Gyeongbuk Superintendent of Education, on Bribery Charges
Two Gyeongbuk Office of Education Employees Also Subject to Warrants
On the 20th, the Daegu District Prosecutors' Office Pohang Branch filed an arrest warrant for Im Jong-sik (68), the Superintendent of Education for Gyeongbuk Province, on charges including bribery.
It is known that the prosecution also filed warrants for two other education office officials besides Superintendent Im. A prosecution official stated, "It is true that the warrants were filed, but we cannot disclose detailed charges."
A Gyeongbuk Office of Education official said, "We are currently investigating the specific charges for which the arrest warrants were filed."

Superintendent Im previously worked as a frontline teacher in the Gyeongbuk area, then served as the Head of the Teacher Support Division and Director of the Education Policy Bureau at the Gyeongbuk Office of Education. He was elected Superintendent of Education for Gyeongbuk in 2018 and was re-elected in 2022, currently serving his term.
