Samsung Electronics Chairman Jay Y. Lee directly expressed his apology regarding the ongoing labor-management conflict over performance bonuses, stating, "I will face the harsh storm myself and take full responsibility for everything."
On the afternoon of the 16th, at the Seoul Gimpo Business Aviation Center (SGBAC), Chairman Lee met with reporters upon his return from a business trip to Japan and said, "Now is the time for us to come together wisely and move in the same direction," expressing his position.
Reading from a prepared statement upon his arrival, he said, "I sincerely apologize to all our customers worldwide for causing anxiety and concern due to our internal company issues." He added, "To the people of Korea who have always supported, loved, and even criticized Samsung, I bow my head in apology."
