Consumer Agency: "Endemic Leads to Surge in Overseas Travel and Airline Service Inquiries"
As endemic conditions lead to an increase in overseas travel, consumer complaints related to overseas travel and airline services surged last month.
The Korea Consumer Agency and the Korea Consumer Organization Council announced on the 17th that an analysis of 41,722 consultations received by the 1372 Consumer Counseling Center last month showed a significant rise in complaints related to international travel and air passenger transportation services.
Consultations related to international travel increased by 87.5% compared to the previous month. Many cases involved companies failing to provide timely refunds or demanding excessive cancellation fees. Additionally, consultations related to moving services such as packing and transportation (30.6%) and various interior installation services (29.3%) also increased significantly ahead of the moving season.

Compared to February of last year, complaints related to international travel (931.4%) and air passenger transportation services (321.7%), including excessive cancellation fees demanded by airlines, were notably higher.
