Mokpo National University LINC 3.0 Project Group Signs Business Agreement with 9 Institutions

National Mokpo University (President Song Ha-cheol) 3rd Phase Industry-Academia-Research Cooperation Leading University Development Project Group (hereinafter referred to as the LINC 3.0 Project Group) announced on the 13th that it held a "Global Semiconductor Major Recruitment-Linked Program Ultra-Wide Area Semiconductor University Alliance Business Agreement" with the LINC 3.0 Semiconductor Workforce Training Council and global semiconductor major Amkor Technology Korea Co., Ltd.
Mokpo National University Industry-Academic Cooperation Leading University Development Project Group signed a business agreement with Amkor Technology Korea Co., Ltd. for the 'Ultra-Wide Area Semiconductor University Alliance Linked to Global Semiconductor Major Recruitment Program.'

This agreement aims for joint workforce training and recruitment-linked program co-operation in the semiconductor back-end process specialized field between Amkor Technology Korea Co., Ltd., seven universities, two research institutes, and the LINC 3.0 Semiconductor Workforce Training Council, with Professor Jeon Hee-seok of Mokpo University's Department of Information and Electronic Engineering as the overall person in charge.
Through this agreement, each institution promised mutual cooperation in research and development and educational support for semiconductor back-end process workforce training, including △ development of industry-academia joint customized curricula and joint training of professional technical personnel △ employment linkage through long-term field training △ operation of industry-academia joint research and development programs △ mutual use of equipment and facilities.
The event was attended by university officials including President Song Ha-cheol of Mokpo University, Executive Director Lee Jin-an of Amkor Technology Korea, National Assembly member Seo Sam-seok, Jeollanam-do Provincial Assembly member Na Gwang-guk, as well as representatives from universities, companies, and Jeollanam-do provincial government.
Executive Director Lee Jin-an of Amkor Technology Korea said, “Through customized curricula with universities, we cultivate talent and improve job skills through long-term field training, significantly reducing the costs and time involved in hiring new employees, which greatly helps efficient operation and securing excellent talent.”

Meanwhile, since last year, the Mokpo University LINC 3.0 Project Group has been operating a semiconductor package microdegree course together with the Department of Information and Electronic Engineering based on the demand of semiconductor companies, achieving a department employment rate of over 85%, accelerating efforts to nurture semiconductor professionals in the advanced industry field.
