Gyeongsang National University Holds Workshop to Share Status and Achievements of Innovative Departments
Strengthening Competitiveness through Autonomous and Proactive Educational Innovation
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] The Office of Educational Innovation at Gyeongsang National University announced on the 24th that it held a ‘Workshop on the Operation Status and Performance Sharing of Innovative Departments for Educational Innovation’ at the Asia Lakeside Hotel in Jinju.
The workshop, attended by 52 participants including professors and teaching assistants involved in the ‘Innovative Department Support Project’ and staff from the Office of Educational Innovation, was organized to share the current status and achievements of educational innovation in innovative departments and to build networks between departments and offices.
Jwa Yong-ju, Director of the Office of Educational Innovation, said, “We must face the rapidly changing educational environment and policies, break down the walls between majors, and strive to find alternatives through openness and convergence,” and added, “We ask for interest in the Regional Innovation-Centered University Support System (RISE) project and the Glocal University project.”

The Innovative Department Support Project was planned to strengthen internal and external competitiveness and capabilities through autonomous and proactive educational innovation tailored to the characteristics of each undergraduate department amid rapidly changing educational environments.
In the 2022 academic year project, 15 undergraduate departments were selected and supported by evaluating the educational innovation plans of departments wishing to participate.

Gyeongsang National University plans to implement programs to improve major education and enhance students’ capabilities according to the educational innovation plans independently established by the departments selected as innovative departments.
