Gyeonggi-do Allocates 19.3 Billion KRW for Heating Costs of Vulnerable Groups
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province has fully disbursed 19.3 billion KRW for heating expenses for vulnerable groups. It has been 25 days since Governor Kim Dong-yeon announced the support measures through social networking services (SNS) on the 26th of last month.
Gyeonggi Province announced on the 23rd that it disbursed 10.9 billion KRW for the first installment on the 7th of this month, followed by the remaining 8.4 billion KRW on the 20th.
Looking at the support scale by city and county, Suwon City received the largest amount with 1.466 billion KRW. This was followed by ▲ Goyang City with 1.444 billion KRW ▲ Seongnam City with 1.434 billion KRW ▲ Bucheon City with 1.316 billion KRW.
Earlier, under Governor Kim Dong-yeon's directive, the province allocated 19.8 billion KRW in provincial subsidies related to heating expenses to 31 cities and counties within the province on the 31st of last month.
Afterwards, the province held meetings with welfare directors of cities and counties to encourage prompt budget execution and monitored the disbursement status daily.

Nam Sang-eun, Director of the Welfare Policy Division of the province, said, "We made efforts to provide early payments so that no one suffers due to delayed heating expense payments," adding, "We will continue to do our best to identify and support welfare blind spots facing heating crises through the emergency welfare crisis counseling hotline (010-4419-7722) and the emergency welfare dedicated call center (031-120)."
