At the same time, through research on agricultural product distribution markets, the city plans to do its best to diversify export items in the future.
In particular, through this Dubai activity, a contract worth $500,000 was signed between the Korea Pear Farming Association Corporation and Dubai 1004 GOURMET, achieving a significant result.
Following Dubai, the city plans to expand exports of agricultural products centered on strawberries and paprika, its largest export items, through exhibitions and special sales events in Japan in March and Singapore in April.
A city official said, “Although difficulties for exporting farmers are increasing due to the complete abolition of logistics cost support next year under WTO negotiations and rising prices of agricultural materials, we will overcome this crisis together with farmers through active overseas market development, including targeting products suitable for each country’s market situation, discovering new export items, and developing high value-added processed products.”
