[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Su-yeon] Minister Lee Jong-ho of the Ministry of Science and ICT is expected to miss the 'Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2023' held in Barcelona, Spain on the 27th due to health reasons.
On the 20th, Minister Lee told reporters at the 'K-Network 2030 Strategy' launch ceremony held at Samsung Electronics Seoul R&D Center in Seocho-gu, Seoul, "My arthritis has worsened, so it seems difficult for me to attend this MWC."

Originally, the minister was scheduled to participate as a speaker in the ministerial-level program session 'Network Investment: Delivering The Digital Revolution' on the second day of the event, the 28th.
The session includes telecommunications companies such as Deutsche Telekom, Saudi Telecom, and the Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA), as well as policy executives from big tech companies like Meta and Netflix. It is a forum to discuss the sharing of infrastructure investment amid rapidly increasing data traffic.
