15 Life Insurance Companies Hire 453 People
17 Non-Life Insurance Companies Plan to Hire 513 People
[Asia Economy Reporter Minwoo Lee] Insurance companies plan to hire approximately 1,000 new employees in the first half of this year.
The Korea Life Insurance Association and the General Insurance Association of Korea announced these hiring plans on the 20th during the 'Financial Sector Youth Employment Meeting' hosted by the Financial Services Commission.
First, in the life insurance sector, 15 companies announced they will hire a total of 453 employees in the first half of this year. Additionally, they plan to continuously identify positions requiring high school graduate personnel and increase hiring of high school graduates through ongoing recruitment.
A representative from the Life Insurance Association stated, "Although there are inevitable changes in workforce composition due to prolonged low growth and the expansion of non-face-to-face services leading to efficiency improvements in sales organizations, we agree on the recognition that the financial sector must take social responsibility and a leading role in solving youth employment issues. We will actively strive to supply quality youth jobs through entering new markets and providing new financial services in response to changes in the financial environment."
The general insurance sector is also planning to hire a similar number of employees. Seventeen companies plan to hire 513 people.
