Choi Sang-dae, Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance, also attended in person and urged, "Please take an interest in new projects."
On the 13th, the Ministry of Economy and Finance held a brown bag seminar (lunch seminar) titled "Aging and Care Robots: Current Status and Prospects" in the ministry's large conference room, attended by about 70 department employees. This seminar was organized to enhance understanding of new industries and new markets that can foster future growth industries and respond to structural crises.
At the seminar, Dr. Song Won-kyung, head of the Care Robot Mediation Research Project Group at the National Rehabilitation Center, gave a presentation on the value of care robots, trends in advanced countries, and the current status in Korea. Care robots are attracting interest as an alternative in the aging era in Europe, Japan, and the United States. Korea also officially announced the launch of care robots within this year and is expanding related investments. Care robot companies also participated, demonstrating their products directly and providing opinions on development, domestic distribution, and entry into overseas markets.

Deputy Minister Choi Sang-dae stated, "The care robot sector is significant in contributing to responding to the crisis of aging and can also drive the activation of the 4th industrial revolution," adding, "As the main ministry for economic regulatory reform and the fiscal authority, Ministry of Economy and Finance employees should take an interest in these new industries and new market sectors."
