Based on these results, the organizing committee plans to prepare safety management improvement measures and recurrence prevention plans.
The joint inspection team consisted of 20 members, including three safety management experts from the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, Suncheon Fire Station, Korea Electrical Safety Corporation, and organizing committee officials.
Additionally, a joint safety inspection task force involving safety experts, fire services, electrical authorities, and related agencies will operate once a week to establish a strengthened safety network exceeding the standards set by the Serious Accidents Punishment Act, Industrial Safety and Health Act, and other construction-related laws.
During the on-site inspection conducted that day, safety equipment and risk factors were checked, and safety education was provided to construction personnel on site.
Meanwhile, besides safety at the construction sites, the organizing committee plans to also inspect measures to eliminate risk factors for visitors during the expo period (April 1 to October 31, 2023).
They will thoroughly review the introduction of an integrated safety and disaster platform incorporating advanced technologies such as drones, people counting systems, and wearable cameras for the first time in Korea, as well as the establishment of cooperative systems with related agencies such as police and fire stations.
