Goh Hak-su, Chair of the Personal Information Protection Commission, Inspects Personal Information Leakage and Exposure Response System
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] On the 3rd, Go Hak-su, Chairperson of the Personal Information Protection Commission, visited the Korea Internet & Security Agency, a specialized institution for personal information protection and utilization. Chairperson Go inspected the personal information infringement report and exposure response system and discussed data utilization support measures such as MyData to lead the digital transformation.
Chairperson Go visited the Personal Information Infringement Report Center and the comprehensive situation room to comprehensively check the investigation support system, including infringement reports, case handling, and technical support. He urged a prompt response to the increasing personal information exposure incidents to timely address the public’s grievances.
He also reviewed the status of the sector-specific standardization projects and support platform construction preparation (ISP) for the nationwide MyData era, which was presented as a key task in the 2023 Personal Information Commission work plan. Additionally, he visited the national artificial intelligence (AI) cluster site located in the Gwangju Metropolitan City advanced industrial complex to receive a progress report on the project and discussed the role and support measures of the Personal Information Commission to help the domestic AI industry leap forward.
