Acquired International Standard 'ISO 22301' from British Standards Institution
Recognized for Business Continuity Capability During Work Disruption
Starting from Hwaseong Campus... Expanding to Domestic and Overseas Semiconductor Sites
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] Samsung Electronics announced on the 26th that it has received the international standard certification 'ISO 22301' for Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) from the British Standards Institution (BSI). The company has been internationally recognized for its ability to normalize business operations even if work is interrupted due to disasters. It is expected to increase global semiconductor customer trust.
This system refers to a company's ability to minimize the impact when work is interrupted due to disasters or calamities and to recover core operations in the shortest possible time to normalize business.
Yoon Taeyang, Vice President and Head of Global Manufacturing & Infrastructure at Samsung Electronics' DS (Semiconductor) Division, explained, "Samsung Electronics has established a response system not only for traditional crisis factors but also for various crisis situations such as global supply chain management through systematic company-wide crisis management."
Samsung Electronics expects to strengthen its semiconductor business competitiveness by securing global customer trust through this certification. The system will first be established at the Hwaseong Campus and then expanded to semiconductor sites domestically and internationally.
