New Zealand is a country with over 400 golf courses. The golf industry is thriving, and it has produced Lydia Ko, who is ranked number one in the world. President Murphy said, "We are very pleased to be able to contribute to the development of women's golf in the Asia-Pacific region, where New Zealand golf is emerging as a center of the global women's golf community." It was also agreed in principle to resume hosting the New Zealand Women's Open, which had not been held for the past five years due to sponsorship issues, starting from 2024.
