[New Year's Message] Jung Woo-jin, NHN CEO, "Focusing on Strengthening Profitability Centered on Game Business"

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Choi] Jung Woo-jin, CEO of NHN, emphasized that this year the company will focus on strengthening profitability centered on the gaming business.
On the 2nd, CEO Jung stated in his New Year's address, "This year, marking the 10th anniversary of our founding, is an important year to prepare for a new decade of leap forward," adding, "At the core of achieving profitability enhancement lies the gaming business, the foundation of our group."
Last October, NHN merged with NHN Bigfoot, consolidating its gaming business capabilities at headquarters and accelerating efforts to rebuild its reputation as a leading game company.
CEO Jung explained, "This year, NHN will present a total of seven new titles, establishing a strong growth foundation in the gaming business. In particular, we will newly challenge the mid-core genre with the root shooter new title 'Darkest Days,' and actively challenge the global market with two casual new titles based on the puzzle game-dedicated development engine 'Mbrick.'"
NHN Payco also shared its management message for this year, focusing on securing profitability.
Jung Yeon-hoon, CEO of NHN Payco, said, "Last year, Payco completed the transition to a business unit system centered on four core businesses to establish a new growth foundation. This year, we will prioritize solid growth accompanied by stable profits as our top task."
To achieve its goals, Payco will pursue the following initiatives across its four core businesses this year: ▲ sales growth based on the Payco Point Card in the points business ▲ increased user traffic through discovering new affiliated stores in the coupon business ▲ securing overwhelming market dominance by expanding client companies in the business-to-business (B2B) sector ▲ actively exploring various lifestyle-oriented financial services in the financial business.
NHN Cloud, which launched a new corporation last year, also released a New Year's message under the names of co-CEOs Baek Do-min and Kim Dong-hoon, encouraging employees by stating, "Last year, NHN Cloud established itself as a leading domestic cloud company by achieving various results centered on the public sector, such as becoming the number one operator in public cloud transition and building the national artificial intelligence (AI) data center."
