Gyeonggi-do Expands Disabled Activity Support Program to Over 14,000 Beneficiaries
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi-do will increase the number of beneficiaries of the Disabled Activity Support Project to about 14,000 next year.
Gyeonggi-do announced on the 29th that the number of beneficiaries of the "Disabled Activity Support Project," which provides services such as physical activities, household chores like cleaning, mobility assistance for commuting to school and work, home bathing, and home nursing by activity supporters visiting the homes of registered disabled persons under the "Disabled Welfare Act" aged 6 to under 65, will be expanded by 1,739 from this year to 14,724 next year.
The province is implementing the Disabled Activity Support Project, which provides additional benefits of up to 137 hours, including 5 hours for school life, 20 hours for work life, 40 hours for childbirth, and 70 hours for independent living preparation, to beneficiaries who lack sufficient service hours from the government's activity support alone.

Kim Young-hee, Director of the Disabled Welfare Division of the province, said, "We expect that more disabled people will receive support with the expansion of additional support project beneficiaries for disabled activity support in Gyeonggi-do next year," adding, "We will continue to strive to stabilize the lives of disabled people and eliminate welfare blind spots."
