At the end of the year, the local legal and business communities generously donated large sums to the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea, creating a warm atmosphere.
On the 28th, according to Gwangju Community Chest of Korea, Jang Deok-an, president of the Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Bar Association, and its members participated in the 'Hope 2030 Sharing Campaign,' donating 20.14 million KRW.
This donation will be used to support living expenses, heating costs, medical expenses, and other needs for neighbors in difficulty within the region.
President Jang said, "I hope that the funds collected bit by bit will be delivered to those in need so that Gwangju can become a happy city for all," adding, "During this time of economic hardship caused by rising prices, we will continue to contribute to the local community through ongoing social contributions."
The Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Bar Association has donated a total of 390 million KRW to date and is also engaged in various social contribution activities such as donating funds for wildfire damage recovery and signing an MOU to reduce guarantee fees to protect citizens' property rights.
Saechun-nyeon General Construction, a construction company in Honam, donated 10 million KRW as a scholarship fund.
This money will be used for scholarships to nurture local talent at Chonnam National University and will be provided to care households within 100% of the median income.
Kim, CEO of Saechun-nyeon General Construction, said, "I decided to donate with the hope of helping students who do not give up on their dreams," adding, "Especially in difficult times, we will practice warm sharing and strive to be a company that fulfills its social responsibility in the local community."
Kim Jin-gon, secretary general of the Gwangju Community Chest, expressed gratitude to those who practiced sharing despite the difficult economic conditions.
