The competition is part of Dongmyung University's specialized project ‘Change-Up Project’ and involves creating robot mobility using the design thinking process and LEGO, with performance evaluated across various missions.
The robot mobilities participating in the competition competed in sports events such as robot ssireum (Korean wrestling), hill climbing, and autonomous driving to assess their mobility performance.
The department awarded scholarships and certificates to outstanding teams based on comprehensive evaluations from students, faculty, and industry experts regarding mobility performance and the design thinking process.
The overall winning team was ‘Daehwaga Piryohhae’ consisting of students Kim Min-hyun, Lee Hwa-seong, and Jang Jun-hee.
Team leader Kim Min-hyun said, “Theoretical classes were difficult because results were not easily visible, but designing and programming using LEGO was enjoyable as we could immediately see the outcomes.”
The Department of Marine Mobility at Dongmyung University is nurturing talent for marine mobility SI projects tailored to industry demands through a recruitment-pledged industry-academia scholarship program.
