According to the university on the 23rd, Changwon National University's Education Innovation Headquarters Creative Convergence Education Center was chosen as an excellent improvement university in this year's post-monitoring diagnosis of university liberal arts education, hosted by the Korea Foundation for University General Education under the Korea Council for University Education the day before.
The Foundation diagnoses problems related to basic liberal arts education faced by universities and suggests solutions to normalize basic liberal arts education, which is the core of undergraduate education, and to strengthen the university's educational competitiveness through consulting.
This selection is the result of diagnosing and reviewing the improvement achievements of each university after receiving liberal arts education consulting in 2020.
Changwon National University stated that it received two rounds of consulting in sequence: basic consulting in the first half of 2020 and in-depth consulting in the second half of 2020.
Based on the consulting diagnosis results, the university explained that it has been improving for about two years, including introducing a full-scale reform of the liberal arts curriculum completion system from the second semester of the 2020 academic year.
As a result, it achieved outcomes such as ▲expansion of basic liberal arts and transition to a distribution completion system ▲reorganization of a balanced liberal arts completion system ▲operation of communication clinics and special lectures ▲strengthening of workshops for liberal arts education instructors ▲establishment of a linkage system between liberal arts and extracurricular education and management of lecture quality.
