Ulsan Office of Education Fully Expands Rehabilitation Service Fee Support for Students with Special Educational Needs
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education Special Education Support Center has expanded the rehabilitation service fee support recipients from kindergarten and elementary students to middle and high school students starting in 2023, providing customized rehabilitation service fees up to 160,000 KRW per month.
Special education students' treatment and rehabilitation services include two methods: rehabilitation services where therapists visit schools directly, and services where individuals visit hospitals or rehabilitation service institutions to receive support, with up to 160,000 KRW per month provided.
Among these, treatment fees in the areas of physical and occupational therapy were supported up to 160,000 KRW per month for special education students in kindergarten, elementary, middle, and high school, but rehabilitation service fees were previously supported only for kindergarten and elementary students.
Accordingly, starting from October, the recipient scope was fully expanded, and from the 2023 academic year, any special education student in kindergarten, elementary, middle, or high school who wishes to apply can do so.

The scope of treatment and rehabilitation service support has also been expanded from four areas such as physical therapy to 13 areas including art psychological rehabilitation, music rehabilitation, and motor development rehabilitation, and special education-related services are strengthened by supporting 30 families for parent self-help groups and family counseling.
