On the 17th, at the second round of the tournament held at Twin Doves Golf Club in Binh Duong, Vietnam (par 72, 6,549 yards), Choi Yerim recorded 7 birdies and 2 bogeys, finishing with a total score of 9 under par 135, edging out second-place Lee Jeongmin and Go Jiwoo by one stroke.
Choi Yerim, who debuted on the KLPGA regular tour in 2018, has yet to secure her first victory.
Choi said, "Rather than expecting good results, I practiced a lot with the mindset of improving my condition. Thanks to not thinking about the results, I was able to take first place today," adding, "Now I believe I can definitely win. I have gained a certain level of confidence."
Although Choi Yerim is the sole leader, she must fend off a one-stroke chase from Lee Jeongmin, who boasts 9 wins on the regular tour.
Lee Jeongmin has not won since the Dongbu Construction-Korea Land Trust Championship in October 2021, making this victory highly sought after.
Go Jiwoo, who was co-leader the previous day and is in a tie for second place one stroke behind, is aiming for her first career win.
Lee Somi and Kim Woojung are tied for fourth place with a total score of 7 under par 137. Lee Soyoung, Lee Jihyun, and Hong Jungmin are tied for sixth place with a total score of 6 under par 138.
