Busan Future Policy Seminar Held at Dongmyung University ... Assessing Busan's Uncertainties and Risks
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The 10th Busan Future Policy Seminar, the ‘2022 Busan Triport Strategy Seminar,’ will be held on the 16th at 1 PM in the Advanced Seminar Room (Room 107) on the first floor of the University Headquarters Business Building at Dongmyung University.
This seminar, held under the theme ‘Expansion of Global Risks and the Future of Busan,’ will bring together experts from industry, academia, research, and government to assess the uncertainties and risks surrounding Busan and devise ways to overcome them.
Yoon Gu, Senior Researcher at Clarkson Korea; Kim Geun-seop, Head of the Port Research Division at the Korea Maritime Institute; Jang Ha-yong, Research Fellow at the Busan Development Institute; and Jung Moo-seop, Professor at Dong-A University, will deliver keynote presentations at the seminar.
Ten experts, including Professor Ha Myung-shin of Pukyong National University and Professor Ryu Dong-geun of Korea Maritime and Ocean University, will participate in a panel discussion chaired by Professor Woo Jong-gyun of Dongmyung University.
The Busan Future Policy Seminar has contributed to the development of Busan’s logistics business industry over the past decade by reviewing key trends and issues surrounding Busan and proposing responsive measures.
Busan is preparing for future innovation through large-scale infrastructure development and improvements in the business environment.
The development of Busan Port’s Second New Port and the Gadeokdo New Airport is underway, aiming to grow into a triport equipped with global maritime, air, and inland transportation networks, as well as a future-oriented logistics business center.
However, due to the recent global spread of economic and financial risks caused by the U.S. interest rate hikes, the economic growth rate is predicted to fall below 2% next year, significantly increasing uncertainties in the shipping, port, aviation, and logistics industries.
