[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] The Hyunsong Foundation announced on the 14th that at the 13th board meeting in 2022, Hyun In-sook, the former chairperson of the Hyunsong Foundation, was appointed as the 17th president of Gangneung Yeongdong University.
Hyun In-sook (62), the newly appointed president, said in her acceptance speech, "To overcome the chronic difficulties in admissions caused by the declining school-age population and the limitations of regional universities, I will build a united Gangneung Yeongdong University through systematic admission strategy planning and communication with students, faculty, and staff."

President Hyun will serve a two-year term and will remain as a foundation director according to relevant laws and the articles of incorporation. She currently serves as the president of the Korea Chess Federation and vice president of the Asia Pacific region.
