[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Busan Port Authority (BPA) was selected as an ‘Outstanding Institution for Violence Prevention Education’ at the ‘2022 3rd Annual Women’s Violence Eradication Week Ceremony’ and received a commendation from the Minister of Gender Equality and Family on the 25th.
The event was held via online live broadcast.
The Outstanding Institution for Violence Prevention Education is an award given by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family to institutions that have contributed to the spread and support of violence prevention education. This year, 11 institutions were selected.
The Ministry of Gender Equality and Family evaluated the excellent cases submitted by each institution from multiple perspectives such as the appropriateness of the education plan, distinctiveness, and ripple effect, and awarded commendations from the Minister of Gender Equality and Family to 11 public institutions overall.
BPA was highly evaluated for its efforts in leading the awareness and cultural spread of violence prevention through activities such as ▲continuous learning support using the in-house LMS (Learning Material System), ▲self-production and distribution of prevention education content by MZ generation employees within the institution, and ▲reflecting the completion of education in the institution’s department evaluations.
Kang Jun-seok, President of BPA, said, “The four major violence prevention education courses are essential training that must be taken by public institution employees as mandatory legal education, but more importantly, they are essential education through which employees can learn how to care for and respect each other as members of the institution.” He added, “We will continue to consider and strive to raise gender sensitivity and spread a culture of gender equality not only within the company but throughout the entire port industry.”
