According to the Ministry of Justice on the 25th, the Correction Headquarters decided to record the Korean national football team’s World Cup matches and broadcast them at 6 p.m. the day after each game at 54 correctional facilities nationwide. Inmates can watch the recorded matches in their respective rooms if they wish.
Inmates are usually allowed to watch the "Borami Broadcast," which is edited mainly with educational programs by the Ministry of Justice, only until 9 p.m. However, since all matches of the Korean national football team in this World Cup are held after 10 p.m., live broadcasts cannot be viewed in the correctional facilities.
The Korean national football team’s matches are scheduled according to Korean time as follows: against Uruguay on the 24th at 10 p.m., against Ghana on the 28th at 10 p.m., and against Portugal on the 3rd of next month at midnight.
Accordingly, the Correction Headquarters judged that live viewing on the day of the match would be difficult, so they arranged to broadcast the recorded match videos from 6 p.m. after the end of the daily schedule the following day, allowing inmates to watch freely.
