Yuhan-Kimberly "Kleenex Biodegradable Wet Wipes Market No.1"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwak Minjae] Yuhan-Kimberly announced on the 21st that it has achieved the number one market share in the eco-friendly biodegradable wet wipes market.
Yuhan-Kimberly cited the Kantar Worldpanel market report for the third quarter (July to September) of this year, stating that newly launched products account for about 68% of the biodegradable wet wipes market, driving growth in the related market. A Yuhan-Kimberly official explained, "This result reflects customer preference for newly introduced products such as Kleenex paper wet wipes and Eco Green wet wipes."
The domestic wet wipes market, estimated by the industry to be worth about 300 billion KRW, is known to have entered a stagnation phase with an annual growth rate of around 3% recently. However, the eco-friendly biodegradable wet wipes market is showing a growth rate of about 25% (according to the Kantar Worldpanel market report). It has surpassed 10% of the total wet wipes market.
Yuhan-Kimberly is expanding customer choices by offering a diverse lineup including ▲Kleenex paper wet wipes ▲Kleenex Eco Green wet wipes ▲Huggies Nature Made wet wipes ▲Scott Eco paper wet wipes.
The growth trend of the eco-friendly wet wipes market is expected to continue in the future. This is because major countries such as the United States, Canada, and the European Union (EU) have already started regulations on the use of wet wipes containing plastic through national legislative processes. In South Korea as well, regulations on the use of plastic-containing wet wipes are being strengthened, and market changes are anticipated accordingly.
