The Jinju City Comprehensive Trade Delegation resumed activities for the first time in three years since the COVID-19 pandemic and has been pioneering the Latin American export market in Colombia, Argentina, and Chile from the 7th to the 16th. Following the export consultation meeting in Bogota, Colombia on the 8th, the second export consultation meeting was held in Buenos Aires on the 11th, producing these results.
On that day, 14 companies in the automobile, heavy equipment, and machinery parts sectors participated in the trade delegation and conducted one-on-one export consultations, receiving enthusiastic responses from buyers despite the local economy being unfavorable due to soaring prices. In particular, Company A signed a business agreement (MOU) worth 2 million USD with a local company, signaling a positive outlook for overseas market development and exports.
Mayor Cho visited the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Argentina and the Korean Cultural Center to introduce the excellent technology and products of Jinju’s small and medium-sized enterprises, and actively requested cooperation for economic, cultural, tourism, and festival exchanges and mutual cooperation with Buenos Aires. Ambassador Jang Myung-soo to Argentina also visited the export consultation meeting, encouraging Jinju businesspeople and showing great interest.
Following this, Mayor Cho met with Kim Bong-ju, President of the Korean Business Association in Argentina, and Martin Miguel Lo Coco, President of the Argentina Asia Chamber of Commerce, to promote various projects such as Jinju’s aerospace industry, UAM industry ecosystem establishment, and the attraction of the KAI rotary-wing flight center. He requested cooperation for Jinju companies’ entry into the Argentine market and asked for substantial support and roles to help them gain competitiveness in the global market.
At this meeting, the Korean Business Association in Argentina and Jinju City signed an MOU for mutual cooperation to support Jinju companies’ entry into Argentina and exchange information, strengthening Jinju’s advancement into Latin America.
Martin Miguel Lo Coco, President of the Argentina Asia Chamber of Commerce, said, “I am pleased to learn about Jinju City, which has excellent products. We will spare no support to help Jinju companies participating in the export consultation meeting and Argentine buyers become good business partners, and I definitely want to visit Jinju City next year.”
