Korea Venture Investment Conducts New VC Talent Training Program... Selects 50 for 6th Cohort
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] Korea Venture Investment held the entrance ceremony for the "6th Venture Capital New Talent Training Program" on the 4th.
The Venture Capital (VC) New Talent Training Program is a representative venture capitalist training course conducted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and Korea Venture Investment with the purpose of increasing specialized venture investment personnel and attracting young and talented individuals to the industry.
This program consists of about six weeks of venture capital theory education (online) and practical workshops such as preparing investment review reports and investment contracts. Afterwards, a three-month domestic venture capital internship matching is promoted. The advantages include the opportunity to participate in long-term education, build personal networks, and connect to employment.
Graduates who complete this program and work in venture capital obtain qualifications for registration as specialized personnel of startup investment companies under the Act on Promotion of Venture Investment.
Since the first program was launched in 2015, a total of 187 people have graduated through the 5th program, and the alumni are working as full-time investment review personnel at major domestic VCs.
This year, 50 trainees with expertise in various industries, including researchers from universities, pharmacists, lawyers, patent attorneys, and those from leading domestic and international large corporations, were selected through interviews with current venture capital executives.
