Renault Korea Motors Sells 19,258 Units in October, Up 66% Year-on-Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Renault Korea Motors announced on the 1st that it sold a total of 19,258 units in October, with 4,338 units domestically and 14,920 units exported, marking a 65.6% increase compared to the same period last year.
In the domestic market in October, the mid-size sedan SM6 continued its sales growth for six consecutive months, selling 475 units, a 38.5% increase compared to the same period last year. The new trim 'SM6 Feel' accounted for 62.3% of total SM6 sales and received positive responses from customers. The SM6 Feel, launched last October, lowered the price by 940,000 KRW compared to the existing LE trim. Most of the features preferred by consumers in the LE trim were included as standard equipment.
The mid-size sport utility vehicle (SUV) QM6 led Renault Korea Motors' domestic sales performance with 2,007 units sold. The QM6 LPe model, which consistently receives love as a family SUV by securing both space utilization and passenger safety through its patented LPG donut tank mounting system, accounted for about 78% of total QM6 sales with 1,574 units.
The coupe-style SUV XM3 sold 1,540 units, a 94.4% increase compared to the same month last year. The XM3 E-TECH Hybrid, which began sales on the 28th of last month, started customer deliveries for about 5,000 pre-orders and recorded 297 units sold. The XM3 E-TECH Hybrid features a hybrid drive system closest to an electric vehicle, enabling up to 75% electric vehicle mode driving in urban areas at speeds below 50 km/h.
Renault Korea Motors expects that the SM6, QM6, and XM3 gasoline models will be delivered by the end of this year, allowing customers to benefit from individual consumption tax incentives for contracts made this month. They anticipate steady sales growth in the domestic market through the end of the year.

Renault Korea Motors' exports in October increased by 125.2% year-on-year, with 14,920 units shipped. Among the total 12,388 units of XM3 (export name Renault New Arkana) exported, hybrid models accounted for about 55% with 6,875 units. QM6 (export name Renault Koleos) shipments increased by 41.9% compared to the same period last year, with 2,449 units shipped.
