Democratic Party Gwangju Branch: "Yoon Administration Fails to Understand the People's Pain"
At the Protest Rally, Demanding Accountability for 'Livelihood Collapse and Diplomatic Disaster' and the End of 'Political and Opposition Suppression'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Democratic Party of Korea Gwangju Metropolitan City Party members held a rally condemning the Yoon Seok-yeol administration on the 27th.
About 100 core party members from eight local committees within Gwangju Metropolitan City participated in the rally held alongside a core party member training session. They read a resolution condemning the Yoon Seok-yeol administration and urged President Yoon Seok-yeol to awaken.
They stated, “The Yoon Seok-yeol government is not only causing the collapse of people’s livelihoods, diplomatic disasters, and controversies over harsh remarks, but also mobilizing political prosecutors to suppress the opposition party,” and claimed, “The political prosecutors, who have become loyal henchmen of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration, revealed their intention to crush the main opposition party and even raided the opposition party’s headquarters.”
They continued, “Since the launch of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration, the lives of the people have become difficult amid high inflation, high oil prices, and high exchange rates,” adding, “Despite concerns over a wave of corporate bankruptcies triggered by the ‘declaration of non-fulfillment of debt guarantees’ by Kim Jin-tae, Governor of Gangwon Province from the People Power Party, the Yoon Seok-yeol government is solely focused on suppressing the opposition party.”
They also said, “Due to diplomatic disasters in South Korea, which relies on exports, the national dignity has fallen to the ground, and the people are condemning the Yoon Seok-yeol administration as an incompetent, irresponsible, and unprepared ‘three-no’ government, resulting in the worst approval ratings,” adding, “The Democratic Party will definitely protect the lives of the people against the Yoon Seok-yeol administration, which only blames the opposition party and the previous administration while evading responsibility and focusing solely on political repression.”

Lee Byung-hoon, chairman of the Democratic Party Gwangju City Party, stated, “The Yoon Seok-yeol administration does not even understand the pain of the people,” and said, “Their repeated political and opposition party suppression to recover their falling approval ratings is nothing but a disgraceful political attempt, and we will fight to the end against the Yoon Seok-yeol administration.”
