The National Symphony is actively promoting the discovery and development of Korean conductors through the KNSO International Conducting Competition and the KNSO Conductor Workshop. With this agreement with the Seai Unhyeong Cultural Foundation, it plans to provide more substantial support.
The Seai Unhyeong Cultural Foundation will provide a total sponsorship of 15 million KRW over two years starting this year to outstanding conductors selected for the Conductor Workshop and special award winners of the 2024 KNSO International Conducting Competition. If there is a Korean winner among the international conducting competition recipients, they will be selected as ‘Seai Unhyeong Cultural Foundation Sponsored Talent’ and receive continued support.
Choi Jeongsook, CEO of the National Symphony Orchestra, stated, “The global influence of K-Culture today has been possible thanks to consistent support for culture and the arts. We hope that this beautiful partnership with the Seai Unhyeong Cultural Foundation will be a starting point for Korean conductors to freely demonstrate their abilities on the world stage.”
